Install and repair electric water heaters services

What are electric water heaters ?

Electric water heaters are a method of heating hot water for your heating system using only electricity . It consists essentially of a water storage tank (with different capacities: 30L, 50L, 75L, 80L, 100L, etc.) and an electric resistance that heats the water and maintains it at a temperature between 75º and 90º. Depending on the capacity, it takes between one and four hours to warm the water inside. For this reason, when all the hot water from the water heater is used, it is necessary to wait between one and four hours to get back to the hot water.
As the hot water comes out of the water heater, it gradually fills with cold water (it can never be completely emptied since the resistance would be damaged).

There are two factors to take into account when choosing an electric storage tank:
> The capacity that best suits the needs.
> Depending on the available space, the customer will need a horizontal, vertical or multipurpose heater (admits both positions).

Basic tips you need to know:

Asses your needs:
The quantity needed of DHW depends on how many people live in your household and on their habits. If you have reasonable hot water consumption, on average, 40 to 50 liters of DHW per day and per person is to be expected. An accurate assessment of your needs is necessary. Indeed, if underestimated, you will get cold showers! At the contrary, if overestimated, your electricity bill will increase since too much hot water is produced for nothing. Smartly, some water heaters memorize your daily consumptions and adjust hot water production depending on your actual needs.

Hot water needs estimation:

Water quality:
The water quality of the distribution system can directly affect the lifetime of your appliance. If you have a balanced water, then there is no problem. However, if it is too hard, it can cause scaling, in particular to the heating element. If aggressive, it can cause a faster tank corrosion. Rather, select a water heater fitted with Steatite heating element protected by enamelled steel sleeve. Beware of water softeners, incorrectly tuned, they produce a far too aggressive water, therefore, too corrosive.

Some advice to take into account before installing the heater:

> The heater must be installed in a place that allows easy access, allowing the magnesium anode to be removed, allowing for the necessary maintenance as the magnesium anode is a "sacrificial anode", which is consumed by the operation of the heater.
> Install the heater, far from any type of heat source and near the most used hot water faucet, in order to reduce the thermal losses and the waiting time.
> You should check the diameter of the magnesium anode at the latest after two years.
